This exclusive Auction features over 170 art objects, furniture, and collections for interior home design, including a stunning set of Japanese Dinnerware made by Meito in Japan, in the early 1930’s. Meito is a popular brand made in Japan. The vast number of Meito patterns reflect the rich traditions of both East and West. Meito's parent company, Narumi Seito Narumi, continues to manufacture fine bone china and porcelain today. The stamp "Meito" means "fine sword" or "excellent sword". The name is attributed to the company's headquarters in Nagoya, Japan, a city famed for its sanctuary of the sacred sword that is one of Japan's crown jewels.

The set includes 6 wooden balls, 8 mallets, 2 posts and 10 wickets. Provenance, condition and care were recently reviewed with a conservator for the purpose of long term preservation; and 1917 Prohibition Era American Medicinal Spirits with Prohibition Stamp 1917. To ensure that objects of material culture are saved for posterity, our mission is education, where everyone may have an understanding of an art investment and the value of the object. This educational information allows for these objects to travel on to new homes and endure for long term preservation. The provenance of material culture helps all generations, young and old, get more out of the experience of being involved with our culture. This tradition of conservation and preservation efforts contributes to the benefit of families and their communities as well as provides a benefit by reducing waste, as many families are using a mix of new and old materials in the planning of any home interior design.
Auctioneer’s Details: “I am a collector of material culture with a passion for provenance and photography. I was the only son to get the collecting bug, and like most collectors, I started out early. Trunks, suitcases, and boxes sealed for generations, filled with objects that belong to our ancestors. Rooting around and unearthing precious items under the house one day, I decided I wanted to be involved with the conservation of historical objects in one way or another. I decided to study material culture and after many hours of study, I realized I still have much to learn. I received my certification as a valuation professional and today remain focused on conservation.” - Owner, Kurt Costello. Among the highlights are a watchmaker’s cabinet, a handmade farmhouse chair from the 1840s, as well as a rare hand crafted settee. The BnB Auction features a selection of well-known items, including a collection of books by Charles Dickens, contemporary furniture, sterling silver, bronze sculptures, housewares, collectibles, original paintings and lithographs. The auction features a mix of material culture items both old and new, not just to attract buyers, but to also demonstrate the value of conservation and preservation of antiquities through provenance. Online Auction Terms and Conditions
